Hygiene Technician II
SCOPE OF WORK
Scope of WORK shall include but is not limited to the following:
- Inspect, test and assess the performance of the existing engineering control equipment and its associated components.
- Evaluate and recommend where necessary, remedial or improvement measures should be made on any malfunctioning areas of the engineering control equipment that require modifications.
- Establish existing performance & operating conditions of the engineering control equipment;
- Conduct smoke test and measurement of capture/face velocity, static pressure, velocity pressure, transport velocity and determine either face/capture and transport velocities are within the operating range as imposed by ACGIH for engineering control equipment;
- Determine the pressure drop across air cleaners and to detect any clogging or leaking on the air cleaner device if any;
- Conduct measurement for fan static pressure, fan total pressure, brake horsepower, RPM, volumetric flow rate and efficiency of the fan;
- Inspect condition of air cleaner device and measurement of pressure drop (if any);
- Verify compliance with original design data or comparing it with previous measurements or required face/capture or duct velocities as recommended under industrial ventilation: A Manual of Recommended Practice 30th Edition by American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH);
- Demonstrate compliance with Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Acts and Regulations in particular USECHH Regulations 2000;
Competency
- Possess “Orang Yang Kompeten (OYK)” card issued by DOSH
- Possess a valid DOSH Certificate of Competency in Inspection, Examination, and Testing of LEV System
- At least two (2) years’ experience in performing local exhaust ventilation assessment in oil and gas industry
Qualification
- Possess at least a Diploma in Science, Diploma in Engineering, or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) recognized by MQA and attend the course and pass the HT2 examination at a training centre registered with the Director General, or
- Possess at least a Diploma in Industrial Hygiene recognized by MQA; and pass the HT2 examination at a training centre registered with the Director General, or
- Be recognized as an Industrial Hygienist or Occupational Hygienist by an organization recognized by JKKP and pass the HT2 examination at a training centre registered with Director General
